Nice Dillema - Stay or go?

Hi all,
So, i have a nice job. Pay is good, job is largely stress-free, got alot of freedom within a small company and am left to get on with my jobs. Been here 2 years and am 30.
At the suggestion of a leisure acquaintance, i was put forward for a job at his company (next door....literally). I went in and had a chat/interview (out of curiosity) in January which went ok but i didn't hear anything for a month.
I was contacted by their HR today and was offered the job.
Now, if i had been offered the job sooner, i might have bitten their hand off as i was quite keen. But as time has passed, i have gone off the idea.
Am i just too comfortable here?
Current Job:
Pro:
- Nice location
- Nice co-workers
- good pay
- good hours (very flexible)
- nice level of responsibility
Cons:
- Small company, no real strata other than 'Director' and 'Staff'
- Co workers a bit dull, no one in my age group.
- Heart's not in the industry, not really bothered.
- Given the smaller jobs to look after
New Job:
Pro:
- Same location (next door building)
- Same pay
- Acceptable hours
- New people
- Much bigger company
- More structured development
- more 'interesting' field of work
Con:
- Same location (it's a known - would bump into current colleagues regularly)
- Less freedom (certainly in the short-term)
- Working with/for someone i know outside of work.
- Bit of a sideways step rather than upwards.
I get the feeling that the job was opened 'for' me, so don't want to let them down, yet i don't want to let my current employer down. (Small family(ish) business)
My main concern is that i will go there and be bored again in 2 years. I am aware that at this time in my life i should be thinking about sticking a job out for a bit longer than 2 years. I have 'been about' since i qualified due to redundancies (x2) and fall-outs (x1) but have yet to land somewhere really inspiring. I tend to live for my free-time and never take work too seriously.
What to do?
Anyone been in the same boat?

I would go for it, you are so young and it will give you the ability to spread your wings and fly

You might well be bored again in two years but you'll have the options of moving and developing within the company. To be honest you describe your existing job and I think of a 50 something yr old lady!

I would take it, you may regret it in a few weeks.
Embrace the change. With a bigger company and potentially developing the job for you, you might have better opportunities in the future.
Good luck.0 -
Take it! It sounds like there are lot more opportunities for progression in the new job which is just what you need. You'll get more out of your job in every way by progressing over time rath than proving that you can stick out a job for a long time
