The myth of Austerity Part III

To be fair, what we are doing here is not really austerity, it is just a pretty small cut (or lack of increases) in public spending. Real austerity would be a return to 1940s living standards.0

Explain to me exactly why you think the deficit is rising?
Because this government hasn't got the balls to cut back public spending like it should do. Too frightened of the LibDems, too frightened of the howls of anguish from the chattering classes, and too frightened of more riots like in 2011.
Please don't tell me that I don't read enough like you just did to somebody else. That is so patronising and pathetic on internet forums that it beggars belief that anybody still does it.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

PS I've thanked your post only because the Links are good ;-)
Imagine somebody having access to your credit card who you are not too trusting of, but are unable to do anything about it.
That person then goes on to run up £100,000's of debt, and then when it is maxed out after ten years of abusing he/she does a runner leaving you to sort the debt out.
That person then turns up two years later moaning and whinging that YOU have not sorted the debt out yet and the cashflow is bad.
Yep, I still think it's fair to say that the mess we are in now is still down to Gordon Brown and Tony Bliar.
Another point on this....
Looks like we are no closer to getting good solid growth yet, the timeclock is ticking.
I can see the credit agencies already putting on their coats and heading for the door to go and pay a visit to UK PLC.0 -

Rationing imports perhaps?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Never used to be perhaps with the army stretched and police numbers in decline they no they don't have the right tools in the box.
Perhaps it isn't just x thousand miners now that feel disaffected and it just isn't worth lifting the lid on the can. One thing to starve out a few not so easy with the many.
Perhaps they know all parties, over decades, have led us to this point in one way and another and feel in part responsible.
Of course they could be draconian but that wouldn't resolve the problem just create another behemoth."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

You mean when the Boomers started arriving? I thought they had it easy?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
