Just wondering if this has ever been considered by the MSE board or anyone who uses the forum. As someone who likes competitions sometimes I quite like to figure the answer myself and though I appreciate the op given us the answer or solution is there any option to put this in a spoiler tag. I know spoiler tag exist in other forums so if you are posting the answer this can be hidden from users until you press on the word " spoiler" to reveal what is written in it.
I know there are a few competitions where the op does post them in a colour tag so you have to highlight it to see the answer.
What do other people think.
P.S There are other times when I am too lazy or don't have the time to figure out the answer so am always happy to see someone has already done the legwork too.

I wouldn't an additional step involved to post or read an answer, if I wanted to figure it out I wouldn't be looking at a post on here.0

Personally I don't see the need. I think this is just creates more work for posters.Thank you all who post.0

I remember a few years back joining in with a treasure hunt type of thing on this forum and they were used then, as per this example here:-

But it doesn't really as you do get spoiler tags in other forums. Just on this forum there is no option as there is no spoiler tags to use. It is just a simple click on it and write in it. Like putting something in bold or using it in italicsI wouldn't an additional step involved to post or read an answer, if I wanted to figure it out I wouldn't be looking at a post on here.
Unlike you, most of the competitions I personally enter are on here in this forum volunteered by the many helpful people. And if an answer is required it is usually in the same post as the op (as it should be for ease) I could search online to find competitions but I find that if a competition has been posted on here it is (majority of the time) not a scam just to get your details and also reading winners on here brings a smile to me.
All I am suggesting is that sometimes it is nice to try to work out an answer without seeing it first. But having the answer hidden so that the option is there.Wins in 2015

I think the forum posting rules should be left as it is for a while. It is hard enough having to remember things when you post. If I post Facebook comps now, I am trying to remember to add either APP, L&S, Rafflecopter to the title, as well as post the links, important info. The 'end-date change' was an utter waste of time the other day - caused lots of confusion and upset. I personally think posters are trying their best at the moment and things should be left as they are - at least for the time being. I also think Newbees find it hard and often regulars have to help them out with adding end dates, links etc. All more work!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

Not quite sure why you think I don't enter through this site?
I would guess that most who enter just want the answer without needing to do anything else and although it may be "just one click" per person that could be 100's or even 1,000's of extra clicks per competition.
However, if like some forum features "spoiler" could be turned on/off so you could choose to always display the answer or not then it is really a matter for the comp posters and the tech people.0 -
I usually post the Mensa comps with the solution hidden so that people can have a go themselves. I have posted February's today HERE
They do take more work to post and you have to be careful that the solution doesn't show when you hover your mouse on the comp in forum view.0
