Does it make a difference speaking to the bank manager?

Thanks for the replies so far everyone.
So I've been looking a bit more into car finance and I see there is companies like creditplus and carloan4u that offer finance, they seem to have good reviews online, does anyone know if this is the case?
I've noticed the odd person say your just as well doing the finance direct from the dealer and may also get a better deal doing it this way...? Would this be a better option? And could you be just as successful going direct with the dealer if you've only got a fair credit score?
Thanks for any advice
Credit scores are private only to a lender when accesing an application so forget about this fair credit scores bullsh*t from Experian etc.
Go to a reputable car finance company like santander, motonovo, close finance etc.0 -
Ok thanks,
Im just trying to figure out what way will be the most successful and not get turned down for car finance so we're not affecting the credit score as it is.....if that makes sense!0 -
IMO the bank manager would have been involved already - did the bank person leave the interview at all when processing your application?
The manager would have wanted the application to proceed if at all possible as this would mean sales points for the branch and the individual dealing with you.
So IMO you would be wasting your time going to see him/her.0 -
It will work in your favour if you are able to put down a few grand on the car so that the loan is for a lesser amount.0

You have no deposit at all for the car? Expect to get a rubbish rate any which way you go.
My car cost less than 2k and she's going strong. Could have gone splashing on some 10+k car, but these are for the unwise.0 -
Speaking to the Bank manager these days is completely pointless, you just get someone else telling you that "Computer says No"!
It wasn't always like this and my TSB manager got me out of a hole some years ago when my wages didn't appear in my account.
Same issue a couple of years ago, even with a 50k cheque waiting to clear into my account and Lloyds couldn't do anything.
I closed my account with them after 30+ years after that.0
