how will my wife going bankrupt affect our joint account?

my wife was granted bankruptcy two days ago and has spoken to the official reciever over the phone but forgot to ask how this will affect our joint account into which is paid our housing benefit and her disability benefit. AS this is the money for our rent which is considerably higher than the housing benefit, we will be in serious trouble if it is frozen and I doubt if I can arrange for this months payments to be paid into another account in my name in time. What is likely to happen there is only £5 in the account today and she told the OR this today on the phone so should I try to have them changed?

it will not automatically be frozen, my bank account was not i just xplained to the OR that it was not in debt that it was a basic account ie no overdraft facility and my wages went into and that it was not oe of my creditors and he was fine with that.
also to note as you have a joint bank account you are financially linked and you credit rating will be efffected by the bankruptcy0 -
Try and get your wife removed from the account ASAP - pop down together to the branch and ask them to do it there and now0
