Hi all, after seeing this thread I decided to start entering these comps. But I accidentally said 'yes' to one of the offers and now I have received so many spam emails! Does anyone know how to make it stop? I'm also worried they have my address and telephone :(

Most emails will have a very small unsubscribe link somewhere, normally at the bottom

Re: postal marketing, on the few occasions stuff has come thru, normally a quick email asking to be taken off usually suffices. If they seem a bit... benign to the suggestion (give them 28 days to filter your name out of the system first) then write a letter similar to the template here - http://www.ico.gov.uk/for_the_public/topic_specific_guides/junk_mail.aspx IF after that they still won't stop, then file a complaint with the ICO here - http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints.aspx

I've only had to go the whole way once, and after the ICO got involved I swiftly received a very apologetic letter from the company (PETA) and had nothing from them since.

    HTH
Golly, I've got the newt pregnant...

Thank you so much for taking your time to reply. I hope it won't have to go that far, but if it does, I''ll know. Thank you renegadia! :)
  • I can't believe after posting this thread I got a WEM this morning from Chat Magazine saying I have won some Golden Tan Duo :j:j

I think this firmly confirms that these are worth entering :rotfl:

Having said the other day I'd been doing the dallies since last October and not won anything, I got a WEM from Woman's Own to say I'd won a DVD.

So it is worth the time...

    Good luck.

(I don't bother with the instant wins)
