Hi...no you do not need to contact the OR.
Have you received a form [IPOQ?} to complete your current SOA on?
Are you claiming benefits?
The OR as to establish an IPA prior to automatic discharge....if no such thing has been mentioned, AD will pass with but a whimper, and a change of details on the IS website under your name.
You do not receive any formal notification of the event [it is automatic, that's why]....so when you become AD, enter the IS site, look for your details, which should show you are AD immediately.....and print off a few copies for your records.
If, subsequent to discharge, you are required by someone to prove discharge, these will help..[the record of discharge only stays on the IS site for about 3 months, so don't delay]....if you don't obtain copies of this online record, you will have to apply to the Court for a certificate of discharge which costs a lot of money! No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0
