Has any one else out there read an article in Money Week titled "End of Britain"
I am not in a position to question any of their figures or graphs and the comparisons they make to other Countries but I would certainly like to hear what others make of their predictions!
For sure they want to sell their Mag. but is it really that bad.
How about it Martin.

Countless books, theories and articles have made the same claim down the years. One of the more memorable was written by Lord Rees - Mogg from 1994.
Here's a modern day review of that book from Amazon;
1.0 out of 5 stars Thank goodness I ignored this book!, August 16, 2000

This review is from: The Great Reckoning: Protecting Yourself in the Coming Depression (Paperback)
When I first read this book, I was very concenrened about the negative implications for the USA economy and stock market for the 90's. I considered selling all of my stocks when someone pointed out to me that these sorts of doom and gloom books show up at used book sales and stores on a regular basis. So I went to a couple of used book sales and stores and discovered this was right -- failed doom and gloom books have been published on a regular basis

Those that predict at the extremes are usually wrong.
This is wrong, just as those muppets like Sibley predicting double digit house price growth are wrong.
For a number of people where jobs have been lost etc then it may seem like the end of the world, and if you are caught up in that then it wont really matter that most are ok.0
