Could someone recomend. also do I need a microphone. I don't want anything to complicated or expensive. Your comments would be appreciated.

you'd need a microphone if you want to 'chat' while using the webcam as well. If i'm using my cam i just use the cam and chat via msn.
Which cam is a difficult one to answer as everybody gives a different answer. I just bought a cheap on and have no problems with it0 -
