Just for the people wondering and asking about been contactable whilst at work....

I do work offshore. We are not allowed mobile phones on the rig and if we are found with them we can get a warning or get taken off the rig completely. We leave them at the heliport and pick them up when we get back on land. Each rig/company is different and some allow mobile phones. There are phones on the rigs that we can use at any time off shift to contact home but cannot take incoming calls unless it is an emergency.

Yes we do have a computer area and are also allowed to take our own laptops/ipads on the rig which is why i said i was contactable by email until i arrive home on Friday.

We also work 12 hour shifts everyday for 3 weeks at a time which is either 7am to 7pm or 7pm til 7am so we basically work, eat and sleep until its time to go home. This dosnt give us much time to deal with things like this whilst away, maybe i should have posted whilst i was home.

I was just trying to make it easier by saying im available by email until Friday and then contactable by phone for up to three weeks after. :/

The email reference is WRT135 - MSE [#11064296]
As my work takes me away from home with no mobile phones allowed it can be difficult to get hold of me at times, but my partner has a third party access on the Vodafone account and knows about the situation too so she would be willing to speak to you for any other information you need until i return home next Friday. She is available on the 'other telephone number' provided on the online form. Otherwise i can be contacted through my email which was also provided on the form.

    Thank You

  • this is one of the reason i now try stay away from contract phones.

They have no problem with messing up your credit even if it's their mistake (3 used to be the worst)
  • Hello,
I have had a few PMS asking if i have had any updates or new information as they would like to know for their own reference.

At the moment my partner has spoke to Lee from Vodafone MSE in relation to this matter, he is looking into it and we are awaiting his response.

I have had a few bits of interesting information and regulations which i didn't know existed. At the moment i dont wish to post them on here as they are tools for me to use later if needs be and some do need to be looked into further, but i will post the links and information on here at a later date.

Thanks for all the help via PM's much appreciated!
