Its difficult to contact someone when they don't have a direct phone number. Contacting them via skype on a public PC (at no set time) is not going to be easy to do.

How many of those posting here have worked on a rig, and/or know how things work out there?

Private communications are not easy to maintain, and certainly not on an ad-hoc basis (like goater correctly infers).

The problem as I see it is that Vodaphone have a duty to make sure the information they put on your credit file is accurate and timely. Clearly if you didn't pay the bill then the information is correct. I'm not sure when a bill is in dispute what (if any) information should be reflected on the credit report.
You may have to settle with a notice of correction or perhaps you can add of notice of your own to explain the circumstances.
The person (organisation) that would deal with this would be the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) I believe.
You might be best posting this on some where like the debtfreewannabe board with a slightly more informative title (such as credit report and disputed debt) and hope that someone like RAS or Fermi can help.
You seem to be in a bit of a deadlock at the moment. I can't believe that the Ombudsman can't make a decision either way for you.

  • bod, I was going to say exactly the same. I am currently offshore on a gas platform. We have to lock our phones at the heliport before we fly then collect them when we land 2 weeks later.

Same here! Something to do with security and signals off the phones i was told, not sure if thats right.

Absolutely. Working off-shore on an oil drilling rig for example.

    Spot on! Cheers

Thank You for your reply to my initial post rather than why i cant be reached whilst at work haha.

I will look into that further and i appreciate the info on the new title so that it is noticed more for what the situation actually is.

I was very shocked at the Ombudsman if im honest as the reason i went to them was to try and resolve the matter, and to tell me there is no evidence to side with either party but i still had to pay to pay the bill was a strange way of 'not siding with either party'.

Anyway i have a few new lines to follow up and hopefully fingers crossed i will have some sort of resolution to the matter that is fair.

    Thanks again, its much appreciated.
