Barclays interview

Hi everyone,
I have a face to face interview next week and would really appreciate any advice anyone might have. What kind of questions they might ask? What kind of things about the company they would expect me to know? Anyone had an interview with Barclays?
I've done research on the company and practised answering typical interview questions but really want this job so want to do the best I can in the interview.
Thanks.

You may have a role play where there is a 'customer' and they may see how you deal with a difficult situation.

OP if they ask you which people could you sell their product's to just say everyone in the family.
From a baby in a trust fund, a teenager going to Uni and needing his/her first car, an elder wanting money for home improvements as all the products they/you provide are family friendly from a bank account to house insurance ect.
Good luck in your interview. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
Give an example where you have provided excellent customer service
Give an example where you have met/exceeded targets
Plus a role play trying to sell 'customer' a product (packaged account etc)
I've been a note taker in an interview for a similar job role- different bank but it's probably going to not differ that much!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 20200 -
Hi OP,
I recently had the same thing for a different Banking group, expect:
Team building exercise (talking about products, advantages & disadvantages).
Formal competency based interview - You'll need to know the hours you're applying for, the rotational pattern and why you want to work for the company. Expect questions such as 'What have you most enjoyed about previous jobs?', 'What have you least enjoyed?' and 'When have you provided excellent customer service, both individually and in a team?'.
A role play exercise - This could be over the phone or face to face depending on the job environment.
This is from my experience and I hope this helps, good luck.0 -

I had a similar experience- mine was for a call centre job. Just remember to relax, be yourself, do a little research on the bank- why do you want to work at the bank? Look up their values, products, if your a customer state you are a customer and have had an excellent experience etc etc."Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that!"0 -
I interviewed with Barclays for this role a couple of years ago - got the job
The interview started as a group where different financial products were discussed and you had to suggest their suitability for different types of people. Here they were looking for intelligent suggestions and that you could communicate well. The others that did not do well in this stage were too quiet or talked over other people.
The interview then moved onto a role play - where you had a customer who had booked a holiday. The holiday details were wrong, and you had to manage their dissatisfaction. Be thorough and polite in checking all other details given on the sheet - then suggestions for upgrades may be offered if the conversation has gone well.
At this stage, some candidates were sent home. Those that remained then had a more formal interview with competency based questions. Many of the questions listed in posts above were asked.0 -
Thanks for all your help everyone! It makes me feel better to have a rough idea what to expect, I'm so nervous I just hope I come across well as this job would mean the world to me!0
