Trying to decide which Hoover to get between the above. I know I want an upright and I also have a dog which both of these hoovers cater for. Does anyone own either and would recommend please? Thanks.

I have a Cat and Dog Miele cleaner that I have had since 2001. It is still in great condition, with all its accessories in use, and picks up animal hair very well. You do have to replace the filter and bag regularly, but they are very reasonably priced.
Anyone that has bought a Dyson hears of the repairs and lack of suction particularly in earlier models. That is why I chose Miele and paid a premium simply because it was small and did the job.0 -
Not an upright but I have a cylinder Miele that is 18+ years and still going strong. Only ever had to change bags and filters on it in all that time.0

Had the Miele cat and dog cylinder and hated it, sold it and went back to trusty Dyson.Don't try to keep up with the Joneses - Drag them down to your level - it's cheaper .

Many thanks. I went to look yesterday and chose a Sebo (?). The reports are superb. I have Miele goods and love them but the cylinder miele vacuum I had I just didn't like, mainly because it was a cylinder I think and an upright is easier for me to use. After speaking to the sales person yesterday and his report on Dyson I think I'll give those a miss forever!0
