Karma vs Luck vs Chance vs Probability

I had a weird discussion with my mate about comping this week. She asked whether the wins come along more when i'm having a hard time, as if some weird cosmic force/karma/nice fairy knows that I need a little lift, and one comes along for me to cheer me up and remind me life isn't always hard. I'm not particularly superstitious, no I said no, it's got nothing to do with that, it's merely a matter of chance.

Well....I lost my job a couple of weeks ago, and after a fairly dry few months I have had 3 mega wins in the last 10 days: an iPad, a 42" HD TV with Skybox and Sky for a year, and a fairly pricey perfume.

Is there a real life comping fairy looking down on us? I know this is just a major lucky coincidence, losing my job and getting some big wins (2 big enough that they will pay my rent next month, which was going to be a huge crisis), but I wondered - anyone else had something a bit rubbish happen to them, and then the magical comping fairy comes along and cheers them up with a nice win?

My sensible brain is saying you have more time on your hands due to being out of work so more time to enter more comps?

But I would like to hope the comping fairy does look out for those who need a bit of luck so who knows. Well done on your fab prizes though x

Hmmm, statistics probs, If you entered more, you will win more.
However i am a huge believer in fate & karma, so maybe /

convinced i will win a biggie, dunno if thats wishful thinking or fate

Im having a tough time at the moment, my OH is been placed on casual work with his employer and we expect him to get made redundant in the next few weeks! I have been ill with stomach problems and admitted to hospital for an MRI scan and Im worried sick waiting on results.

I keep reading on IWIWIW - "a cheque just arrived and it couldnt happen at a better time, im sick, not working etc"

And I keep waiting on this happening to me but nothing, nada, zilch, in January I had one win and it was a pack of Kleenex Facial Cleansing Wipes!! Where is my luck when I need it :-)

OK so thats me got that off my chest Im off to wallow in my own self pity again haha!! xx

I watch cheaters with multiple accounts win big prizes, not sure where the karma is in that.

I've never been a particularly superstitious person, it's just such a coincidence that they've come along just as i'm worrying about being unemployed and not being able to pay the rent, and i'm very thankful for it.
