How long do Tesco take to do a refund when you paid by debit card?

I bought something from Tesco and took it back last week, as substandard.
As I'd bought it using a debit card they refunded my £20 back onto my card, fair enough.
Only this was last Wednesday and the money still isn't back on my card.
It's Monday evening now.

How long do they usually take?
It seems like an unduly long time, to me.

On my credit card the refund come through at the latest the next day, can't think why debit card should be any different. If it doesn't come through by tomorrow morning I think it would be worth a chase.

3-5 days is std processing time.

3 to 5 working days, so still a couple of days to go.

2 more days and they'll have had it a week, maybe I'll go back on it's anniversary.

I'm running out of reasons to use that supermarket.

i had a tesco direct refund take 1 extra day compared to everyone else... but this was during xmas.

for me usually its 2 days.
