Lidl Washing Powder

Help!! I hope it's okay to post this here :)

In the interest of money saving, I've bought a mahoosive box of Lidl washing powder, but I'm a bit baffled as to how much to use. There is the most comprehensive possible list on the side of the box, but no scoop inside the box. I'm not normally this dim, but as I usually use liquid anyway, I'm a bit confused!!

A medium load, medium soil, medium water hardness is supposedly 130 ml. This is roughly half a cup right? Seems like an awful lot!

HELP ME!! Thanks :)

Ha ha, I had the same problem and initially dug around a bit for a scoop (hate soap powder under my nails, bleurgh) until eventually rummaging through my kitchen drawer to find a scoop from something else. I never bothered measuring how much it held though, I suspect it's a bit smaller than the intended one. I fully expect to find the proper scoop at the bottom of the box when I get there. ;)

  • Yes, I think it's about half a cup. I use Aldi powder and I use half of what is recommended and it still comes out clean - so about 4 tablespoons. I have heard of people using even half of that, it really depends on your washing, machine etc.

According to the side of my box of Persil, 135 ml = 85 g. If you weigh it out once, you'll see how much this is for future use, though remember what others have said about using less!
  • I only ever use 2 tablespoons of washing powder and never had a problem with things not coming out clean or smelling fresh.

There are 4 adults in our house so we have quite a bit of washing here
  • Thanks everyone :) Can't believe I can spend so much mental energy fretting over quantities of washing powder!! LOL x

I use a little pink cup from an old pastic tea set! No idea how much it holds, but it washed the clothes ok. I heap it up if really dirty or shake a bit back in if not a lot of clothes to wash. The manufactureres would like you to think it is an exact science...

I use a third of the recommended amount and I am in a hard water area.
I find the Lidl brand the best.

I use a scoop that came from a tub of oxi action type stuff for my washing, if its items I'm washing daily ie uniform 1 scoop is enough bedding towels etc get 2 on a longer wash.

Am going to be investigating gloop soon.
