Hi all,
Spotted this little bargain earlier today, unfortunatley not available online - though currently £69.99 @ amazon and currys. Here's the link to reviews on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001MI95A/ref=nosim/coffeeuk3307-21
Got mine from the Comet in Southampton only £29.99, Sales guy said it was a nationwide offer saving £40.

Amazon reviewers are disagreeing with whether this can be used in a shower.
My question is how can you use an electrical item in a shower? It surely has an open socket where you charge it? Also it is designed for gel, but can you use it dry too, as it is as cheap as replacement blades for my current Philishave.0 -
I got one of these from Sainsburys a few months ago (they were heavily reduced - about £20ish IIRC) - and I use it in the shower on a daily basis. I've always wet shaved so I cant really compare it to anything else but it certainly does an adequate job. They are a little plasticy in design though.
You can definatly use it without the gel but I find it better with.0 -
Yes, it's got charging pins (like a cordless phone) but, like a cordless phone, it only accepts a low voltage from a separate charger, and there's a diode inside (an electrical one-way valve) to prevent any current leakage from the internal batteries.doublekite wrote: »My question is how can you use an electrical item in a shower? I use a Cool Skin shaver just with water - I find it causes much less irritation than using shaving products. But your mileage may vary! Certainly it can be used dry or with with ordinary gel - you really don't want to waste your money on the over-packaged sachets. Also it is designed for gel, but can you use it dry too, as it is as cheap as replacement blades for my current Philishave.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
I've used it for this 1st time this morning, very surprised and pleased with the performance, a really close shave.
I used it wet and instead of the sachets provided, used a small amount of Boots Botonics shaving gel - Excellent product :j0 -

I got 3 x Philips HQ55 cutter heads (the ones for most 6xxx models) for £14.98 delivered within a few days just last week from seller ambs119 on ebay.co.uk.
Make sure they are the right heads for your shaver first of course - I used the Philips UK website to double-check the part # before I ordered mine.
Alternatively do have a look at some Argos/Comet offers now and get a WHOLE SHAVER with 3 x new heads in it for £25+ which is cheaper than 2 heads at regular eg John Lewis prices ?!?!
PS: Did look up this HQ6707 on the Philips website and as it used the Cool shave system it has special heads and needs part "HQ167 Philips Cool Skin shaving heads only." not HQ55's like most 6xxx models, so more like £18 on eBay - so could be good value to buy an entire shaver for spares...0 -
