Council Tax and Bailiffs

Options
Hi everyone, needs some advice here. I owe council Tax which I agree I owe it, but just unable to pay it in full or pay it off at a fast rate. I lost my job, now a student, owe 1k in council tax. failed my arrangement with Council due to it being to hard to keep. Passed to the bailiffs who are unwilling to agree to my arrangement payment plan and want a huge amount and then they will talk. I don't have a huge amount!

So basically I spoke with Council to help me out, take it back off Bailiffs and work with me on a suitable payment plan, they said no. Spoke with Bailiffs who want accept my payment plan.

What shall I do? I don't fancy taking out credit or loans because then its more dangerous and will get me in more debt.

I have not let bailiffs in my home, and never will. My Car is registered under my Dads name because he's bought it for me. And therefore theres not much bailiffs can do to me. They have been twice already, how many more times can they keep coming until Council do something with me?

Thanks in advanced, I have a very upset wife over this and need some advice asap.

what bailiff firm are you dealing with ?

start by making payments on-line to(use the council tax ref no for the yr the debt relates to) the council make regular payments of the same amount every week month even if its only a fiver a week you are showing willingness to pay

you send an e-mail to the revenues dep telling them that you simply don't have the large lump the bailiffs want before they will agree to a payment plan therefore you are left with no other option but to pay £xxxx per week/month direct to the council
Inform them you are a student on a very limited income and this is the most you can afford without going into default again

how long the bailiff will take to pass the debt back is a lottery I'm afraid however if they are getting no joy at your address (levy) then they will eventually send it back to the council and move on to someone else

An e-mail to your MP asking for his help with this include a copy of the e-mail to the council could help you
I am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites
