Can't work out if my party is Wedding Breakfast or Evening Reception....

I'm going to sound silly for asking but google hasn't actually helped me work out what mine is.

Basically all the guests invited to the ceremony are all invited to the reception straight after (3/4pm). It's basically a sit down meal with a dance floor for later on. There are no extra 'evening' guests later on.

A venue I'm looking at shows a capacity of 100 for a wedding breakfast and then a 150 for evening reception.

I just need someone to confirm what this actually means? How does a evening reception increase the capacity? Does this mean the venue can actually sit 100 people or 150?

Yes. It basically means that with a top table and round tables for guests sitting down to a dinner (wedding breakfast) they can cater for 100 people.

An evening do usually just has a buffet and disco plus informal seating arrangements (not everybody sits at the same time etc, so they can have 150.

If you're having a sit down meal you'll be limited to 100 people regardless of the time of day.

wedding breakfast +sit meal less capacity probbly due fire regs.
reception less tables and chairs more people standing/dancing therefore more people allowed recption tend to have nibble finger food and buffet style
