I know there are a few comps out there where you have to buy the product.
I think it would be handy to have a thread where you can add what comps are on offer if you buy the product.
I have just bought Aquafresh and regina kitchen towels cos there is a comp on to win a trip to florida. I use these products regularly so it is not an extra expense.
doing a search does not necessarily bring up all the products with comps on.
what does everyone think?

Just about to give up!

I think it would be extremely useful to have them all in one place.
Funny you make this thread now, i just did an advanced search a minute ago for comps that require you to purchase an item for entry.
Had no idea that there was a comp with the regina kitchen towels, so thanks for that0 -
it must be on here somewhere cos i only use MSE. it is not for Florida though, its for a Dyson. dont know why i thought it was florida, but the aquafresh one is for floridaJust about to give up!0

I definitely think there should be a Purchase Comps sticky.0

I think its a good idea but generally as this is a money saving forum, there is a spend limit as the competitions are meant to be free.
The maximum spend limit should cover the cost of stamps/phone call/text message so would limit the amount of comps that can be posted0 -
I think it's a fab idea, as it would allow compers to have the opportunity to see them and decide if it's worth the purchase, but also a note could be made to remind all that these don't exactly come under MSEs ethos - so at your own risk etc0

I'm very much in favour of having a Purchase comps sticky, most that do get posted on here seem to get removed because they are against the rules.
I've had 3 wins in the past couple of months from purchase comps, have come back on here to thank and the original post has been removed. I would never have spotted the comps in the first place if they had never been posted, seems such a shame.0 -

They would be removed even if there was a thread though as I assume they were above the £1.50 limit?2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89
2013: £134.960 -
If you are buying a product and there is a purchase to enter competition that will be shown on the product so there would be no need for it to be on MSE.
(If you were not going to buy the product in the first place then MSE should not be used to possibly encourage you to make an unnecessary purchase just for the chance to enter a competition.)0 -
I think that's a fab idea! While buying a product with a competition may cost you a small fee you have the chance to win a lot back!
It would also mean that the crazy compers (like me) who always look out for competitions on products while shopping will find it easier because we could make a list from the thread for what to look out for0 -

I know what you mean, but by that logic, we wouldn't have the Postals thread. There are some expensive texts on there.
Also, some items don't have on label promotions. Sometimes they are promoted online or on print ads, etc, and people that actually buy the product did not even know they missed a comp. That really is annoying.0
