Self-employed and employ partner: mortgage query

Hi everyone,
My partner and I are looking to move home in the next 6-12 months. I have been self-employed for many years, and recently started employing my partner for admin duties (paid properly as an employer through PAYE).
My question is, does anyone know if lenders (particularly Nationwide) would accept my partners income when calculating affordability (as I do not operate as a company)? I will of course ask the lender before applying, but I'm just wondering if anybody has had any experience in this area on the board.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
