quick dip question

I have some sour cream and red onion crackers to put out when friends arrive and I wondered if I could make a quick dip for them with mayo and sweet chilli sauce? does that sound ok?

Doesn't immediately sound appealing. Why not make a tiny amount (about a tablespoon's worth) and taste it and see what you think?

Try this thread and see if you have the ingredients for them if your concoction doesn't seem right.

  • add some lime juice if you have any
    s&p to taste

that with the sour cream and mayo, with the sauce might not give a "kick"
add a pinch of chilli powder if you need more flavour

The sweet chilli sauce on its own would be good.

You could add ketchup to mayo for a thousand isle dip.

Or add onion or garlic powder to the mayo. (cayenne or paprika would add heat too).

    Parmesan?

    Just a few ideas.

I'd rather do the sweet chilli with cream cheese or cottage cheese, if you have any. You can add a bit of mayo if it needs it, but I think it shouldn't be the main 'base' for the dip.

As above, start small and taste.

Another nice dip is cream cheese, mayo and chutney (or something similar to chutney) if you want a bit of variety.
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!
