Comps Ending

Options
If I try and enter a comp but it has ended I always click expired; how many clicks of expired by different users does it take to get it moved to GO?

Also have you seen my other thread re MSE Comping History? I'd be interested to hear of your input into these boards, cheers

I may be wrong but I think at least 5 people need to click expired before it is moved to GO xx
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

I agree with becky, general consensus seems it's five but don't think it's actually stated anywhere.

With regards to tidying up dead comps, as a trial over last couple months I've been rooting thru the board collating a list of dead previous month's comps and incorrectly dated ones (that escape the usual searches) and sending the list to BG's/adding to Glad's massive workload lol.

I have a feeling that MSE's idea was to make the dead comps move automatically, hence the end date button, relieving some of the massive BG workload that happens on here (E: 31/12 anyone?) but it wasn't quite implemented right. Maybe after some further discussions and maybe a trial, a Version 2.0 might happen which would make life easier, but when that comes in is anyone's guess!

Anyway, just my thoughts.... Going back to OP, my opinion is that expired button should be 3 clicks, it would make it perform better but it does open up the slight possibility of people deliberately moving comps to game over, but I don't see what they would have to gain by that
Golly, I've got the newt pregnant...

    **Gulp**
  • Just to add ... I notice some people will (most of the time helpfully) say a comp has ended, but don't press 'expired' as they don't notice the button. I wonder if it would be used more if it was brought down into the line where the 'thanks', 'quote' etc buttons are?

If I see one that's expired then I do click the link, but then I can't get back to the main board without using the forum jump box. It just goes into a loop of that post and the report expiry message...

If you right click the browsers back button, you should be able to select a page, from the drop down list, that is prior to the the one you were on when you clicked the button.
