Aldi rice cooker

Options
Aldi have rice cookers at £12.99.... it was a special last Thursday, but my local store had a few left today.

Only snag is, no instruction manual! (looked in several boxes).

Anyone know how to use it? Thanks. ;)

I will type out the instructions for you, but you need to phone 0800 8407229 (uk) 087 9962077 rep Ireland/N Ireland email bcc@deslimited.com to ask them to send you them as there is also a form to fill in should you need to return the item as it has a 3 year warranty
Apols for any typos, using ipad...

    HOW TO USE
    1. Using the measuring cup provided measure out the rice and add to the. Ner pot
One full cup is the equivalent to 1 portion per person.
    2. wash the rice in water until the water runs clear.Do not wash the rice inside the pot.
cooking unwashed rice may affect the final cooking results.
    3. Add cold water to the rice, using the measuring cup.Below is the guide which may vary according to personal taste. Please note that some types of rice may differ.

    Examples...
CUPS OF RAW RICE. WATER(add to the line on thepot)
    4 cups. 4-5 cups
    2 cups. 2-3 cups

Place the inner pot into the rice cooker and place the lid on.
Turn the cooker gently to the right and left

    4. Plug the power cord in once you are ready to begin cooking.
Press the switch down to "cook". The indicator light will confirm cooking has started.
    5. When the rice is cooked, the switch will pop up to "keep warm".
Leave covered for 10 minutes to steam the rice.
    6. Unplug after each use.grasp the plug, not the cord.

Hope this helps.....I have done basmati rice and used 1 rice to 1 and a half water and have had excellent results....

Mine did not have instructions, I went straight back the store and they took them out of another box, but they also removed the one without the instructions so no one else would buy it.....

Trying to check back for typos but keep struggling with ipad to scroll up and down....sorry if there is anything that does not make sense....

    How to use it:
I presume you have the basic/standard rice cooker? If so it's like using a kettle. Press switch down to put on and once cooked it cuts off automatically and goes on a warm setting.

As to how to cook the rice:
Always twice as much water as rice*.

So 1 cup rice = 2 cups of water.

*Thin grain rice such as basmati, just reduce the amount of water by a quarter.

You don't have to stick to just plain boiled rice.

You can put frozen peas or frozen/tinned sweetcorn in the raw rice mix too so you get your veg in too.

I use the rice cooker to cook for my 2 dogs too - same instructions as above but I add in raw mince turkey or raw chopped chicken to the rice mix before switching it on. Healthy, no preservatives, no additives tasty dog food.

The instructions I typed out in full are for the exact same rice cooker that was asked about.....word for word from the instruction leaflet.

I was very tempted by this as a spare for my well used one, but Asda has theirs reduced down to £9, so got one of them instead. :D
