Been happening for the last few days.
Probably 3 out of every 10 attempts to reply to a thread results in 'this page could not be displayed'! :undecided
Also going slow!
Hopefully it's just me!
Oh forgot to say I'm also getting pages loading in is it 'plain text' rather than HTML! Basically I have to refresh for it to go normal!

I'm getting this quite often as well, in the last 15 minutes 1 out of every 3 pages has loaded like this, but it has been happening on and off for weeks0 -
This is starting to annoy me now!
I write a sodding long reply, submit it, and I get an error. Try refreshing. Nothing. Hit the back button, reply not there! :wall:
Is it just me?0 -
I get it all the time at the moment, trick is to copy your post before hitting submit, if it happens you can just paste back your reply.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

But sometimes I forget  and more imortantly I shouldn't have to.
I don't wanna sound like I'm having a moan (which I am, I know). But if I write a long reply to someone on the DFW board who needs help and I lose it all I haven't got the patience to type it all out again. If this happens to alot of people potentially someone won't get the help or advice they need!0 -
I have been having the same problems - thought it was my computer playing up :cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0

The problem isn't the site (you'll find the main site almost never goes down). We've actually outgrown the capability of the software running the forum. We've been in touch with the people who write the software (its used all around the world) and it looks hopeful that they're going to work with us to stop this happening - as there isn't another forum of this size using the software its a good learning experience for them too.

I wouldn't say this is a vBulletin "software" issue - it's more like a hosting issue. Because vBulletin is using a mySQL backend it's more likely this is where the bottleneck is. mySQL isn't really designed for that many concurrent connections in the first instance, but when you have 6000 people browsing the site at any one time - you're REALLY putting it under strain. Especially considering vBulletin is making many queries on each page refresh.
Maybe you can check the performance logs with your provider, to see whether the sql server is under load. They may be able to move you to a dedicated, more powerful box?
p.s. How long do you think it'll be before Microsoft and Google start asking to buy your website?Am pretty sure that should make you debt free AND a multi-millionaire at the same time.

Normally if you go Back on your browser, your text is still there, copy it as backup (select text, CTRL-C) before submitting again.
Maybe don't do page Refresh, as this might clear text when you go Back.
Maybe also worth opening text editor, create scratch file to hold backup text (paste text, CTRL-V).
I lost few messages before & am now more careful when I get Glitch/Browser problem message.
