I appreciate the need to keep talent etc.
I agree that every profession needs talent to succeed as success does not happen by chance, but heres an Old Codger who cannot believe that such high bonuses could ever be earned in any job in any profession, except that of gambling with other peoples money.
I agree that everyone should be rewarded with a bonus by the success that they have gained for working hard, but they have not been alone in their achievements, and to come up with a bonus of millions of pounds to me is criminal.
And is it by coinsidence that these bonuses should always be given to bankers?
Or does other professions award vast sums accordingly?
Let me say that, before someone gives me a scolding, I am not against bankers getting bonuses but...:(0

            You don't need references.
 Only a reputation.
What you actually did, or can do is usually hidden behind the smokescreen of gossip and far fetched tales.
 Easily tarnished.
The first time a friend and work colleague was recruiting in New York for financial service roles he was surprised at the level of bullishness both in CV and interview for new roles. They were faultless apparently."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

This libor scandal (and others) has nothing to do with "talent" and everything to do with fraud.
From governments, to banks, to regulators.
Max Keiser and his guest sum it up nicely in this latest show...

Lots of other professions get by without bonuses or at least not of the magnitude that the bankers believe is their right.
I'm talking about paramedics, air traffic controllers and doctors, real talent.
In the case of RBS we (the taxpayer) will be footing the bill yet again no doubt.
This needs to be recovered from the individuals in so far as is possible which means seizing their assets.Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)0
