50th birthday gift idea

hi, I was wondering if people can give me a few ideas. It's my dads 50th birthday in a few weeks, and we're booking a suite in a hotel for him and my mum to stay for a few days (hopefully) and we'll be having a family meal before they go.
We would like to get him a few other gifts, but my dad is impossible to buy for. He doesn't drink, smoke, like football, play golf etc. He does however like cars, but not fast cars more like older & vintage cars and "normal" cars. He would have kind of a sweet tooth, but doesn't like eating too much. He does like classic tv series like Only Fools and Horses, and some rather silly tv shows too. He wouldn't be a gadgety person, has a new phone already & doesn't really have any hobbies (he wouldn't have time for any).
Does anyone have any ideas?
(p.s sorry for all the information!)

thanks for the ideas.
would have loved the rental of a classic car but i'm in northern ireland and anything like that would probably involve 2-3 hours travel.0 -
These are a few suggestions as to what we've done for dad on special birthdays
4 x4 Off road Landrover experience
helicopter flight
Flight in 2 seater plane - got to take controls
3 x hot air ballon flights
rally experience (drove a Ford Escort cosworth) not to posh or too pricy

If he likes the classic TV series there is an interactive Dining experience for fawlty Towers - I have been to it before in NI (Millenium Forum in Derry) and it was fantastic - we got it for my in-laws for Christmas and they were there last night and loved it!

...Or simply DVD box sets of the programmes he likes? Our HMV and Blockbusters are closing down
so they have sales on...or Amazon and Play, etc if you haven't got any of those.

How about a happy box. Pick a suitable size and design of box and include some things that you know have created some happy memories for him, such as photos, tickets to places you've been (could ask other family members if they have these). Each of you write a note to your dad telling him how you feel about him, why you love him. Sometimes we can say 'love you' all too easily but seeing it written down is nice and can brighten the saddest of days.
Failing that, how about a camera. How's his garden looking, what about a re-design or some nice plants.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0
