    If you leave the mill pension where it is, as moonrakerz said, its a taxpayer backed ,safe as houses option. However it only increases inline with rpi rather than salary increases (over the long term, salary increases faster than inflation).
    Depending on how you see your career at BAE linking it to your salary may result in more pension as salary increases (especially if you get promoted) make up for the lost years of transfer.
    Its then your call if the extra pension is worth the loss of guarantee. Although these days blue chip final salary schemes well protected against a Maxwell type situation or company bankruptcy
