Hello,
We are now sorting all the little bits for our wedding and someone mentioned about doing confetti cones at the church incase people didnt bring any.
Has anyone done this? I've had a quick look on ebay and they have the dried rose petals but i'm not sure how much I would need any idea? We have about 50 adults and 15 children but not all of them would need one would they? How many do you reckon I should make? And how much of the petals should I buy?
Or would you suggest just getting a few boxes and giving them to my mum to take incase people forgot to bring any?
Any suggestions would be great! Oh maybe put in with the order of service? I dunno lol

Hiya, I looked at having petal confetti but alas I couldn't justify the cost! I found this website really helpful though - explains how much you need etc http://www.shropshirepetals.com/the-shed/petal-advice
(I'm now making my own confetti from biodegradable paper)

generally kids and the female guests will throw the confetti so I would just make a that number as a minimuim. that said we had 53 and pretty much all them threw confetti we were still finding confetti after our honeymoon at home!:kisses3: Married 29th September 20120

Hello, I made a bunch of confetti cones out of doillies
Here's a pic (ignore the hankies):
We had two of these heart shaped baskets full and another small box for the bridesmaids to top up if they ran out - they were handing them out - I think I made about 25 or so. Only the ladies threw the confetti so that was plenty:
I ordered a pack of doillies, some thin double sided tape and a box if dried delphinium petals (whatever the bog standard size was, 1ltr maybe...I can't remember) from ebay. I did the lot for about £15-£20. Well worth it for the photos we got!

And thats settled it i'm having confetti cones! Love your photos so much think it's deff worth buying some, like you said for £20ish it's worth it. Love the doillie idea they are fab, i've got some floral card thats left over from our invites so will use that so it's just the petals to buy, I think 25 cones will be enough. Did your bridesmaids hand the cones out when people were on the way out the door after the ceremony?0 -
Thanks!
Immediately after our ceremony we went outside to take all the group photos and everyone was having a glass of bubbly so the bridesmaid's handed them out while people were milling around chatting and our photographer co-ordinated the picture. I think it worked pretty well. I think as long as the bridesmaids let people know that you want to get a confetti picture so as people don't just chuck it about whenever they feel like it...
Floral cards sound lovely! Show us a pic once you've made them! I searched for double sided tape on ebay and found a really sticky thin double sided which I used to seal the edge once I'd rolled them up. I found it worked better than glue and it meant I could make them way in advance and knew they would still be stuck together. That would be my top tip!0 -
We just had confetti cones for the ladies - only kiddie was too small anyway - so that cut down our costs. Onr of our ushers (DS2!) handed them out at the door of the wedding venue.
Ours had personalised labels, with ivory & crimson rose petals0 -
I hadn't thought of using doillies for the cones, but they would fit in perfectly with my lace themed bits! Now just to find some petal confetti that isn't too expensive!Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!0

Yes they would go great with a lace theme!Ebay has loads of different colours and patterns. My only tip would be to double them up as they are not too sturdy if you just use one.

Whatever you do, just make life easy for yourself. My sister had confetti popcorn tubs at her wedding...I can remember frantically trying to fill the things 5mins before the ceremony...consequently, at out wedding, we just had little drawstring bags we filled ahead of time - much easier to transport0
