    Well said Mike!

And User, we have no central heating and only electric in our house and we spend around £100 a month and that's no exaggeration, yours is cheaper than that so I can't see how that could be cut.

Thanks guys, but it p1sses me off when 'visitors' start preaching this that and the other when it just isnt needed. You think that the fact that they have posted on a B board speaks volumes in itself.

There are a few popping up latley.

OK I have a couple of questions.

Clearly, if/when I go bankrupt, the car goes. That's fine, I will learn to live without it and living without the expense will be a joy! It's 12 months into a 3 year HP scheme- one of those where the monthly payment is low, then at the end you hand it back / pay a lump sum / part exchange. Am I best off waiting till bankrupcy forces them to come and take the car off me, or trying to give it back now? Will they even take it back now unless they have to iyswim?

The one for dh's business is 2 years into the same sort of scheme. Is it true that I could hand that back and walk away unscathed? There are other ways of him having a car for business that may be more cost effective, I'd need to look into that, but disposal of the existing car then becomes the issue.

My heads a bit f**ked so excuse my muddled thinking!

I can answer the car HP questions! We included ours with OH's BR proceedings. No point in trying to get them to collect it now, chances are they will stall and continue to take your money and take ages if they do say they'll collect, whereas if the OR tells them you are BR so take it back, they might take it seriously and move more quickly.

OH went BR 2 weeks ago and we are still waiting for any contact at all from our company (Welcome). We asked them to take the car back way before OH decided to go BR and heard nothing and still haven't.

As for your dh's car, depends on what sort of agreement he is in with it. If it's HPA and it's in YOUR name too, you can include it in BR and any outstanding amount is written off and the car is handed back.

Erm, well, we actually stopped paying them in October last month (we didn't just not pay, we were/are in dispute) and we still have the car, I think you have ages to go before they jump on you. We are still waiting!
