Hello. I was wondering if anyone could help me on this one.
I am recently married and my credit rating has always been fine. My wife's credit report is poor , not really her fault but CCJ's and defaults etc. We have kept all accounts separate on Martin's advice and mortgage on our house is in my name to protect my credit rating. However before I knew about my wifes credit history we applied for a joint mortgage with Nationwide who turned us down. this then alerted me and my wife explained about her poor history.
This joint application has stayed on my Experian credit file and I was wondering if it would affect me getting credit in the future ? As I said we are not financially linked in any other way.
I was recently turned down for the post office credit card and just wondered if this maybe a factor.
hope someone can help and thankyou.

You could always write to them to file a 'notice of disassociation' to remove any link to her from your file and see if that helps?Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
