Knitting help- cricket ball

Hi
I'm going to try and make something this year for birthdays rather than buy.
I'd love to make a cricket ball and found a pattern but confused about what it means ( eg slip, wrap, purlwise ect). I can cast on/off and knit and purl. I've tried to look on YouTube but it just confuses me more.
If anyone could explain more I'd be gratefull.

  • Slip you just move the stitch to the right needle without working...

Wrap and turn... Bring the yarn to the front of the work (as if to purl), and slip one stitch from the left needle to the right (again, as if to purl). Then, turn the work over. The yarn is now again at the back of the piece and the left and right needles have changed places. Bring the yarn to the front, and slip one stitch from the left to the right needle. The wrap and turn is now complete; if the next stitch is a knit stitch, remember to return the yarn to the back of the piece before beginning.

Purlwise - just means you need the thread on the front and put your right needle through the left needle stitch like you would if you were purling.
