    If the lender did not have reasonable cause to withdraw, a complaint may be upheld and you might get £50 for inconvenience.

    TBH if you want a mortgage from this lender, I suggest you hold any complaint until after you have got what you wanted.

    Got a new offer in principle ( taken out a top up of 70k )which my broker has said has been agreed but have had nothing in writing from nationwide. Have been told by the broker that every time he calls them its going in the post has been over 2 months now and still no letter to confirm .

    To clarify. Via your broker. Did you complete a full mortgage application for the additional funds you wish to borrow?

    Is it worth making a complaint about the mortgage in principle being taken away .
    I do understand that's its not guaranteed , but if it wasn't available than why offer it ?

    MIP is not an offer. Let alone being guaranteed.

    "In Principle" means subject to. So the full underwriting acceptance process has not been performed. Lenders do not have to offer you a mortgage.
