Help with flights to Toronto

Hi, I need some advice where to get the best deal for flights in end of July / August (I'm flexible on dates) for 2 weeks from Northern Ireland to Toronto, Canada.
I don't mind taking the bus to Dublin airport so that's a possibility as I think flying to England first and then on to Toronto might be too expensive.
Its for 1 adult and a 13 yr old.
I don't need accommodation as I'm staying with friends.
I'll post this on the travel forum as well to widen my net.... thanks in advance for any help or info..............:)

you can fly from Dublin and you can book online with airtransat.
http://www.airtransat.ie/en/12_0.asp?showpbe
But I would call American Holidays in Belfast (Lombard street i think) and get them to price for you, since you are flexible with dates get an agent to do the hard work for you!0 -
Or just check out skyscanner0

aircanada go direct from dublin.
There might be slightly cheaper ways via continental out of Belfast via Newark but its a pita going through US immigration as well.
I went through trailfinders for pricing the tickets.0 -
I hate trailfinders, they are always trying to add crap tours to bump their commission and push towards their hotel choices.
Saying that I have used them to do the donkey work then sourced the holiday elsewhere for 30% less.0 -

Not my experience. Then again I dont book 'holidays' per se but mainly flights (Im a travel photographer and travel every couple of months) with occasionally hire car and the odd night in a hotel here or there (although they were the cheapest/best option for a hotel in Hong Kong last year).
Ive used them to book a cruise/trip as well recently.
I used to spend time getting my own flights but now I just get trailfinders to do it and generally find they are as cheap or better than I can find myself and they certainly are quicker, particularly when one phone call covers ex Belfast and ex Dublin options.0 -
Skyscanner def but i recently booked air transat.. end of Aug prices are great!!0

Check before you book whether the flight is to Hamilton or Pearson. These seem to be the two main airports that flights from here go to. A friend flew about two years ago to 'Toronto' as he had done many times before but only realised the day before the flight that it was flying to Toronto Hamilton. The travel agent failed to mention this and he failed to check his tickets earlier... It caused a bit of a problem as it ended up quite a drive for his elderly host. I think it's 60-70km from downtown Toronto.
He travelled with globespan but pretty sure they are in administration.0 -
Try American Holidays (in both belfast and dublin) and Tour America, they are both on facebook and you can PM or email them for quotes
Sometimes its cheaper (tho it can be a pain!) To fly to England first.0 -
If you’re bound for New York, Orlando or Toronto, one idea is to get yourself to Belfast International Airport and take flights from there. In November 2011 the government, following pressure from Continental Airlines, reduced the rates of APD from £65 to £13 (Business Class travellers pay £26, down from £130). Another option is flying from Dublin Airport, where the departure tax is €3 per passenger.0
