And will this program will also put up a impenetrable forcefield around all the highstreet PDL shops as well.?0 -
Hi,The problem with gamblers is they get a pay cheque then spend it on a sure bet they heard about in the hope of doubling it without thinking that the rent and the bills should be paid first just in case the favourite loses. No rent paid=no house=homeless.
So you know all about gamblers do you? Have you been one yourself? Your example is the definitive, one and only mindset that gamblers have is it?
Allow me to educate you, as an ex-gambler who developed the addiction as a child, of another way that it works.
For many, it's all to do with self-destruction, exactly like self-mutilation, or suicide. It's to do with hating everything, including yourself. Ask yourself where those kind of illogical thoughts might come from. Then ask yourself if you feel good about classing those people into a single group of dreamers in the manner that you had.
It has nothing at all to do with 'winning a bet.' It has a lot more to do with a society that doesn't protect children.
Now who's at fault, the victim, or all of us?
Bravehearted -Are people so brain dead these days that they need soooo much protection from themselves?
If you substitute the word 'desperate' for the word 'brain dead' you might get a bit closer to actually understanding the issue.0 -
Don't quite see the comparison between PDLs and gambling myself0

For most people it seems 50-50 that they will pay it back they all seem to lose their jobs just before loan is due to be repaid.0

HI all, newbie here.
Please put in right forum if this is wrong! Sorry.
Recently i saw a car on auto-trader/e-bay. I sent of proofs of myself and income and got accepted. Paid £200 deposit over the phone to the company. After waiting 3weeks for the finance people to contact me ( still waiting) out of the blue i got a phone call, " are you picking your ca up " No i replied i couldn't afford to wait 3weeks so had to go elsewhere. After getting fobbed of all this week by the girl who dealt with me, Today she decided to tell me i wouldnt be entitled to any kind of a refund as this was a holding deposit and was used to prep the car.
Sorry for the big story!!!
Is she right in telling me im not entitled to get any of my holding deposit back???
Thanks in advance for anyone who can shed any light on this for me

So all financial institution websites should have a block button?
How about amazon/ebay or any other website that has financial transaction involved?0 -

I've designed one for all the common websites to use free of charge.

When I first joined MSE, there were lots of people who were sympathetic and eager to help posters.
These days, it just seems full of sarcastic people who try to out do each other with how much they can take the !!!! out of an OP.
Very sad it is.0 -
Glad to see someone is thinking of the children.
You could probably configure K9 Web Protection to prevent access to financial Websites.0
