That's a ridiculous price - I bet there are some studio flats locally to that who want £150/week or more.... so the rent would creep up on the garages until they, too, are £150/week before too long.
I'd DEFINITELY rent one.0 -
Could stick MPs in em!
For the price, I can't see that it's a bad idea really. For someone who works in London but lives elsewhere, it sounds like a cracking idea. Cheaper than a hotel.0 -
I think it is a brilliant idea. We need to consider more interesting solutions to the housing crisis, this is just one concept. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Aren't there similar things already in Japan? Quite an interesting idea although more for anyone who works long hours in the city Mon-Fri & basically needs somewhere to sleep at night.
Having said that, these are in Dalston.0 -

I think this is a great idea if it is used for people who would otherwise be homeless. A bit of security, shelter and somewhere to call home until they get back on their feet.
It's obviously not a long-term sultion to the problem of housing, but it can certainly help fill the gap until something more permanent can be done. There are also other options such as shipping containers that could be put on waste ground and used.0 -
if these areas are genuinely crowded, expensive, short of housing, etc then single-storey housing seems more than a little bonkers.FACT.0
