Virgin active membership

Hi,
I have just joined Virgin active. The gym is very impressive, very plush, nice changing rooms with heated floor, large gym and reasonable pool, some cool gym classes available too.
I am paying £67 a month on what's called the 'Full Flexi'. Has anyone with a Virgin Membership haggled for a cheaper deal?
I left an LA Fitness before xmas and since then I keep getting emails from them asking to re-join on a half price membership.
Does anyone know if Virgin Active do the same thing if you leave?

wow, do you get your own room and hostess for that?
When you go everyday......£2.15 a day really isn't that much.
To justify that, it costs £4 for a swim at the local leisure centre which includes using the swimming pool and diving pool, whereas........
At Virgin Active £2.15 for the use of pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gym, free gym classes, wifi etc etc......really isn't that much.
But yes, I'd still like to pay less if possible. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Wowzer that is expensive! I pay £49 pcm for all the facilities at anytime. Where is your gym? I suppose if it's a Central London one you will be paying more than me.0

I looked into joining the Virgin Active gym down here in Kent, and it was about £67 each!!!!
So we now have a joint membership at the local council run gym for £70. For that we get the use of the gym, swimming pool, badminton and squash courts, steam room, all the classes, instruction, and there are four or five different centres to choose from.0 -
I have today quit the gym!
Have been with virgin active for years, not been using it enough for the last 6 months. So am going to same some £'s instead!
Are you sure you've not signed up to a minimum term? Is that why its a high monthly charge?Mini me due March 2014
