Contribution Based JSA to Income Based JSA

Hello

(Hoping this is the correct forum)

Basically I have been out of a job for over 128 days and my Contribution Based Job Seekers Allowance has ran out. I have applied for Income Based JSA and a large booklet came which I had to fill out where I had to state any savings which I have (£0) or any additional income (£0)

Does anyone know how long it takes to get processed?

It's been 2 weeks now - I still went to Job Centre last week to sign on and to keep my claim open but no money has gone through yet.

Will this be backdated if Income Based JSA is granted?

Being unemployed for this amount of time after working 11 years at a company is in one word, horrid! The amount of jobs I have applied for and interviews but to no avail.

Talk about feeling worthless!

Check to see if processing have your form! Mine was there, then they lost it, then they said they never had it then they found it and called me a liar telling me I had never called Glasgow and I was not told it was there etc but I had proof on my phone bill and names of all the people I spoke to and dates and times.

Cut a long story short they paid me £100 extra as I put in a complaint and they paid my phone bill costs to call them as they kept saying they had tried to call me every time I called back buy was sitting with the home phone in my hand

CALL THEM to make sure they have it!!

Just hope this is normal and they haven't lost the booklet. It was about 40 pages long :eek:
