Is is safe to buy reduced packet ham and freeze?

I've been doing this for a little while as didn't see the harm in it considering i buy lots of reduced food anyway and freeze it. The slices defrost fine in the fridge over night and we eat it for lunch that day.
I'm just checking that the reason the packs don't say you can freeze them on it is more for a taste point rather than a bacteria point?
Any views?
Starting to worry i'm going to poison the kids.

    You'll be fine. We freeze all our whoops ham etc.

    Yes its ok - BUT, do open the pack and give it the sniff test! if it smells ok then freeze. I have bought reduced stuff and binned it cos it didnt smell 'right'. if it aint right when you buy it then freezing it wont improve it!

    yes its perfectly fine, we do it all the time :)

    We then cook it from frozen, great for pizza / pasta toppings :)

    I do this all of the time and use it on sandwiches. It's taste is no different.
    I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

    Yup, same here -

    also for the BOGOFs -

    my DDad is on his own now, we take advantage of the BOGOFs and larger pack deals
    Putting smaller portions into freezer bags for him to use as required :j
