Hi there, just a word about the eczema. My DD had very severe eczema until she was about 9 - ended up in hospital at the worst point. Now she only has flare ups very occasionally

But, when she was tiny, she had eczema and the hv suggested a change of milk and diet which didn't work, and the Dr just kept prescribing stronger and stronger steroid cream, none of which made a difference.
Eventually I went to boots armed with the latest prescription and the pharmacist refused to dispense it because he said it was far too strong for a baby. At this point I think I just cried.
The pharmacist took me to one side and sat down and talked to me about the eczema. He went through all the times it got progressivly worse, what we had tried etc.
By sitting and talking to someone, I discovered that it got worse each time a tooth started to come through. The stress of teething was showing itself in the skin.
At that point, rather than treat the eczema with the super high steroid cream, we concentrated on the cause - ie the teething and tried to make that as comfortable as possible. That then seemed to calm the sore skin down and we were also able to stay a little more in control and be prepared for future outbreaks.
Sorry, this has turned out to be quite a ramble, but just thought I would mention the possible connection between her teething and her developing the eczema!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Glad to see you more positive - you help so many others but sometimes you need support too. Getting things off your chest can do wonders. K looks really at home in her bumbo - they're great aren't they?0
