    Hi lee8040

I'm new too and have just started entering competitions in any quantity. From what I can see it's a case of entering all the competitions you possibly can (100's) each month and the law of averages says you really ought to win something at somepoint (hopefully). Some are obvioulsy luckier than others but that's the way it goes.

The easiest way to enter lots of comps is to have a look at the forum each day and see what's new to enter. Also, the regular comps go back months (or maybe longer) so when you get a spare minute or so go back to the older posts and see what's still going.

I've set up a hotmail account to enter with as a lot of the comps ask you to sign up for a newsletter and I don't want my home computer bombarded with e-mails so this way they're stored on the web instead and if I end up entering something I haven't checked out properly and get loads of spam it's easier to change my e-mail address.

There are LOTS of lovely people on here that do all the hard work for you and they even give you the answers to questions but in return, if you stumble across a comp that hasn't been posted you can enter it on here.

Hope this helps and good luck x

If you look at all the thread starter names below this you'll see that you have to scroll a long way before you see the same name twice, which tells you that yes theres a winner for nearly every comp but it's not the same person winning them all,,,,,,,,,
Treat comping as a hobby not an obsession to win something, I don't enter many comps at all, much prefaring ones which require a skill element over those which require just a few clicks, which 10's of 1000's of people enter.

The old addage is 'The harder it is to enter the easier it is to win'

Just wanted to add to this quote....by thanking the people, you can easily see if you have already entered, as most competitions are one entry only.

I've been entering for about a month & had my first win a few days ago......an instant win avon eyeshadow but its a start!!

Be careful though....it is very addictive!!!

Best of luck & welcome to MSE!

Also remember if you miss a day or two checking the new posts it can take ages to catch up ( I once missed 3 days and there were 24 pages of new comps entered. Took me nearly 4 days to catch up !!!!!!!

I seem to have a thing about page 8 of the New comps thread as I always end up searching new ones from page 8 ( wonder if this is a sign ? )
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T
