This is a pic of my dress

I dont want clothing!
I have seen so far; bears (very cute but also very expensive!), quilt/throw (not sure how easy it is to do this!), pillows, christmas stockings.
Does anyone have any other ideas? I would be looking to commission someone as I don't have a crafty bone in my body!:rotfl:

Not crafty at all
cannot even sew, but my friend had her dress made into heart shaped cushions they have little red bows on the top of them.

I know you don't want clothing but a friend of mine had her christening dress made out of her mum's wedding dress. I thought that was a nice idea and might be worth saving a bit of the dress if you plan on having children.
Other than that, I do like the cushion idea! Or those little decorative stuffed hearts you can hang on door handles might be quite nice. You could scent them too with some oils?0 -
Not saying that you should do this, but I cut my wedding dress (an amateur seamstress friend made it for me, it wasn't an expensive one!) and made it into sails for a fancy dress cardboard pirate ship!:rotfl: It wasn't just for one use though, a drama group had it in storage for future productions. (I'm still married, 16 years on!
) It was very easy to do, had to be, I can't sew either.
I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
I had a very full skirted wedding dress and I had a Christening outfit for my son made from part of it
I used the rest to line a lovely hat box (very easy to do as long as you don't look to close!)
In the hat box I keep my veil, my garter, the Christening outfit and my tiara (that my Mum wore at her wedding!)
A very simple idea but something I love to peep into occasionally!0 -
could you use top part to make a bodice from?
and yes i was thinking of the cushions etc, or use it to cover a photo album? or cover a box to use as memory box for wedding stuff??
saying this ive been married since 1998 and still havent sorted wedding album out!:A :j0 -

We already have children & do not wish them to be christened however if we were religious I wouldn't have hesitated into making it into a baptism gown as I think that they are beautiful and make lovely heirlooms!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -

That made me chuckle, I would like the dress in some way for myself just not cluttering up the wardrobeSpreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
Thank you for all the suggestions - I think I'm going to make my two girls a teddy each (I say make, pay someone to make!) and some cushions for the bed. Hopefully will find someone who can do both at the same time!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0
