I had a 80 o/d
I moved accounts and forgot about it, they added charges until they issued a default of £380!!
I complained several times and they wouldnt budge,
I offered to pay the £80 but wouldnt pay the charges.
Last week i emailed steven hester, and had a reply from one of their exec complaints team,
They advised they would reduce the default to £80 and if i sent them a cheque for the £80 they would report it as satisfied,
finally one less black mark!!

I'd call it a win, as it saved £300!! A tidy little sum...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Email Mr Hester again and complain about the default. Don't give up now just because the unfair and disproportionate £300 fees were scrapped!B.A - Shut up fool!0

They are two completely different issues.
I would send the cheque as per your agreement direct to the applicable recovery dept with whom you have negotiated.
Then, after you have received written confirmation that the account has been satisfied/settled and advising that CRAs have been notified accordingly, send a carefully phrased letter to the office of Mr Hester. You would basically be requesting to executives of the financial group for the default to be removed as an act of goodwill.
