Wedding Dress underskirt / hoop help

Options
Hi, I'm new here, and I'm getting married in August this year, but I'm in need of some help to find an underskirt or such thing for my dress.

I have the Sophia Tolli Y11003 Darby dress, but I'm confused as to what I'd need to go under it. I didn't have a very helpful sales person in the dress shop so I don't know what I was given to try on with the dress.

Any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you think you definitely had something in the shop? They're not essential at all, I don't have anything extra under my dress and none of my friends who've got married recently did either.

I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p
  • Hi, I definately had one on in the shop, as I've tried the dress on without, and the material is so heavy it just goes flat.

Thank you for the info and pic bubbles, is ebay a good idea for finding one?

The petticoat pictured is a Jupon petticoat and you can buy them off eBay and preloved new or secondhand.

I bought a cheap hooped petticoat and it looked awful under my dress. I then bought a Jupon (second hand) from eBay and the difference was amazing and I paid less than half price too.

If you look on this site it will give you the code number for Jupon Petticoats to make it easier to search:

  • I've just had my wedding dress fitting with my dress maker and she had a hoop at her house for me to try on with my dress. It does need one. So she is going to organise for me to hire one from one of the wedding dress shops she works with and give it to me at my next fitting. So you could look into hiring one from a shop maybe.
  • Well, I've bought a second hand Jupon on ebay. It arrived yesterday, and I'm pleased to say, is just right! So thanks to everyone for the help :)

Yay glad to hear that, it's amazing the difference a petticoat can make :)
  • Hi, I was wondering if anyone could advise me which Jupon petticoat would be best for my dress. I am not sure how to link a picture but it is Impression Bridal 3051 :)

I have been looking at the petticoat listed above the Jupon 121.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jen
