If you’re Mr Balls, you believe that financial troubles under the last Labour government were due to global economic problems, whereas financial troubles under the current Coalition are due to the Coalition’s own incompetence.
If you’re Mr Osborne, meanwhile, you believe that financial troubles under the last Labour government were due to the Labour government’s own incompetence, whereas financial troubles under the current Coalition are due to global economic problems.
Important to get that straight.

Adversarial politics between two lightweight non-entities. Sums up our plight as a nation I'm afraid.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

They're both incompetent idiots and thoroughly dislikable. However, I agree more with Osborne's side of this particular argument.0

Osborne is in office, and not being part of a Labour government sees the need to retain some contact with reality. Balls is in opposition and is a tribal political bully who sees it as fair game to say anything in order to try to win the votes of the gullible.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
