Hey all,
I've just had to take my second Hoover Pet Peformer upright back to Curry's due to a fault, which Hoover are aware of but Curry's locally do not stock the model anymore and to be honest I wouldn't want it anyway.
I'm now stuck on looking for an upright cleaner which is suitable for picking up pet hair ( I have a dog and 3 cats) and can be used on the stairs.
I'm not sure about wattage output and I would prefer a branded (ie Hoover Electrolux) product.
Any ideas?

I think I might get shredded on this one as it kinda goes against the whole Idea of money saving....
But, I have found that Dysons (Or Kirby's) are the only vacuums that pick up pet hair effectively, I know their not cheap but I looked at it as a investmet. 1) I wont have as many sick days due to illness because the carpet will be cleaner 2) I bought once and I bought right (Rather than Buy Now Pay Later which to me refers to buying rubbish quality only to replace it 12 months later) and 3) The Dyson came with a 5 year guarantee do It works out cheaper than constantly replacing knakered Hoovers
Only my thoughts though

It's not an upright, but the Miele Cat & Dog does an excellent job with pet hair. I've had mine for years, even dropped it down the stairs, and it still runs like a dream - as my other half said when first using it "you don't have to do anything, you can feel it doing all the work". There's a reason this one is always Which Magazine's best buy!
HOWEVER it's about £160, so you might have to stretch your budget, and it's not an upright, it's a cylinder but handles stairs very well (watch your legs though, it gets very hot).0
