Having another nosey at the site.. I actually have a lot already & use these cookbooks quite regularly so would definitely recommend the following for the prices..(just quickly check there isn't cheaper elsewhere!!)

Pasta - good for pasta sauce ideas, pretty big
Italian - nice big book&cover
Chinese - excellent book
Fish - heavy thorough book with techniques/skill
Cakes-lovely looking book for a gift

I bought Larousse for my MiL - great bargain. I also bought The Modern Pantry by Anna Hansen (can't do link but still current on Book People website) which has freshened up my cooking. I liked it so much that I've bought two more copies as gifts.

The Book People have terrific deals on some excellent cookbooks, I agree.
