Training bankrupt! training material not recieved!

Hello Everyone,

A number of years ago I took out a career development loan with barclays to pay for a course with Advent training.

A number of years later Advent went into insolvency, leaving me with a large some of money to pay off and only one part of the six part course supplied in training materials.

I was wondering if anyone knew what my rights were? Barclays have just said that any grievances with the training provider are nothing to do with them and I still have to pay it off.

I have paid out a lot of money now and I haven't seen any of the course work for it.

Help would be much appreciated.

1. How long ago? if more than 6 years forget about it.
2. How did you pay for it?

The repayments started 5 years ago, I've been going around in circles since. I'm paying in monthly installments and there's one years payments left.

I keep stepping back and thinking how is it that I'm paying for nothing I even wrote to the company that took over the student list from Advent and they said they couldn't give me any more course material with out additional payment?!

Was the loan signed up for as part of signing up for the course?

Yes it was a career development loan to pay for the course. I took it out with Barclays. I have been constantly looking for ways to a) get my money back for a product I never received or b) At least get the course work somehow that I have paid for.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone. I have found a large group on facebook, it seem's this is an ongoing problem for most people.
