Where to look for a Second Job

Hi All!
Apologies if this has been covered off before, I am looking for some work I can do at the weekend or after work in London (I currently work typical hours 8-5.30 in the city)
Any suggestions where these roles are advertised? Google seems to throw nothing up and there is a lack of things in newspapers these days!
Also, any ideas on good employers for weekend roles? :j

Hi
You could look on Gumtree for your area. Also look at noticeboards in shops, supermarkets, small corner type supermarkets, Post Office. They all advertise. You could also go in to your local pubs, cafes, wine bars, nightclubs, restaurants and ask if they have evening jobs. Take a few CV's with you to hand out. In fact give them out anyway and they may contact you first. People are always leaving, so if they have your details they may contact you first if they have been left in the lurch by someone leaving at short notice.
All the best with your job hunting0 -
Thank you! Another question for you, do you think they will dismiss because my CV is a little office/professional heavy rather than bar work etc. I did do these jobs but it was a good 7/8 years ago now![STRIKE]29/5/12: £3114

Seconded - bars/restaurants etc are great, and also supermarkets too. They're usually open seven days a week and are often open late so you can be more flexible with your times.
Plus, with restaurant work the tips come in very handy for 'ready' cash throughout the week/month before pay day.0 -
Also, with you being in London I'm sure there are lots of museums/cinemas/theatres you could look for evening or weekend work in.
I wouldn't have thought you would be dismissed for not having had recent work in a similar field. You'll receive full training for any job and so long as you show willing, you're half way there!0 -
Hi again,
Always tailor your CV to suit the job you are going for. That does not mean lie. For example I am a Nurse but have done loads of other little jobs, e.g. Admin, Charity work, Mother's help, Pub etc. So if I was looking at a part time job and I had done that before I would put that on my CV with details.
The best thing to get over is a sense of team work, social skills etc.
Good Luck0 -
Gumtree is always good but also try the TNT magazine that comes out i think on a Monday, look outside the train stations, its a free magazine and has loads of part time work advertised for AUS, SA and NZ expats. Pick up the SA and Aus papers too.0
