Too much filter coffee - what to do with it?

Just gone through my cupboards, and realised that I have quite a few bags of filter coffee about to go out of date by a considerable amount of time...:D Any ideas on what I can do with it to stop me from chucking the lot in the bin?
I mean, apart from the obvious "drink it"... That's the problem - we don't really drink that much coffee, and that's how I ended up with too much of the stuff.

You could put it on Freecycle?? https://www.freecycle.org? There might be a coffee lover in your area that would really appreciate it!!Our dream has come true...0

brew it and use it as a slug deterant over plants (they cant crawl over coarsely ground coffee filter/cafetiere ground stuff)
It also works very well on cellulite if you've got any. Stimulates fat cells.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Mmm, I love coffee.
Don't worry about it going out of date - it will be okay for a bit longer. Also, keeping it in the fridge once you've opened it will help it keep longer.Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
Tiramisu? Though if you've got a few bags, that would be a lot of dessert! It's not a light at the end of the tunnel, it's a man with a torch and more jobs

Sure i read somewhere that you can freeze it0

All very good ideas, but... (and this but is about the same size as my own...IOW biiiiiiig) I have 6 x 250g bags... Two went out of date 07/2006.Two went out of date in 09/2006, and two went out of date in March this year. The latter two I would be more that happy to drink still, but the other two I'm not so sure of... And I don't think even I could finish off that much tiramisu!
Oh, and they are all unopened...0 -
freezing it works as long as its in an airtight container.
You shouldn't keep it in the fridge due to moisture getting into it, that makes it go stale
P.S If they're that out of date, I'd say put it on your compost heapWealth is not measured by currency0 -
If the bags are sealed and all air excluded, the coffee should still be good after a very long time. Of course, I don't know how old they are, but I'd suggest to try the "youngest" one.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

coffee granules are a good body scrub halle berry swears by it for cellulite....Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0

Definitely freeze it, my filter coffee recommends this on the packet. I keep my coffee jar in the fridge -it hasn't gone stale yet, but we have a very fast turnover.0
